ROBERT FITZGERALD, poet and translator of the
Odyssey, the
Iliad, and the
Aeneid, was Boylston Profesor of Rhetoric and Oratory Emeritus at Harvard. A collection of his selected prose, including essays on his friends James Agee, Randall Jarrell, and Flannery O'Connor will be published by New Directions in 1987. Robert Fitzgerald died in January 1985.
