CHRISTIENNE L. HINZ is a PhD in modern Japanese history and has published articles on entrepreneurship among nineteenth- to twentieth-century Japanese women. She is a Pushcart Prize-nominated memoirist, an essayist, a poet, and a Master Gardener specializing in organic gardening, orcharding, and sub/urban ecosystem restoration. A beekeeper, a ceramicist, and a textile artist, Christienne enjoys life with her partner of twenty-five years, and her two children.
